Thomas Walenta is an experienced and loyal Project and Program Manager with proven successes in international initiatives, conceptual build-up of project management competencies for organizations, work in intercultural environments, coaching and training Project Managers.

From 1983 until March 2014, Thomas Walenta was employed by IBM Germany and acted as Project and Program Manager as well as a PMO manager for a variety of IBM clients. In spring 2014, Thomas Walenta initiated to receive an attractive early retirement package from IBM, ending his employment on 31.3.2014. He is available for new engagements in Coaching, Training and Consulting.

Thomas Walenta, Dipl. Math., PgMP, PMP, is a volunteer member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 1992 and of the German Project Management Association GPM since 1996. He got involved with Leadership of the PMI Frankfurt Chapter, serving as its President from 1998 to 2005. He supported several Chapters in Europe, including being a founding member of the PMO Romania Chapter. In 2005, he was elected as a member of the PMI Board of Directors for the term 2006-2008. After this tenure and also in 2014, he serves a member of the PMI Ethics Review Committee. In 2012, Thomas Walenta received the prestigious PMI Fellow Award.

In 1983, he received a university diploma in Mathematics from the University of Mainz, Germany.
